I am thrilled to announce that my story, "The Hunt," is a feature story in the Alaska Humanities Forum (AKHF) Summer 2023 Forum Magazine. The story, which discusses our deep connection to nature and ancestral traditions, has found its place amidst other wonderful stories in this Alaska-wide publication.
"The Hunt" is a vivid narrative of a sea otter hunt, an age-old tradition passed down from generations in Alaska. Being able to share this story with a wider audience through AKHF Forum Magazine is a privilege, allowing me to extend the spirit of our ancestors and our respect for the wilderness to readers far and wide. To top it off, a photo of me was from the sea otter hunt was selected for the cover of the Summer 2023 edition.
I want to express my sincerest gratitude to the Alaska Humanities Forum for this unique opportunity. It’s an honor to contribute to their mission of connecting Alaskans through stories that define and bind us. I hope "The Hunt," will bring readers closer to understanding our way of life, and perhaps inspire others to share their own stories, too.
In closing, I invite you all to discover
"The Hunt". May it bring you a little closer to the heart of Alaska and our enduring spirit of resilience and unity.
